HR Generalist

Headquartered in the city of Akron, Ohio, ACRT, Inc.(www.acrtinc.com) is an employee-friendly, client-focused Utility Vegetation Management consulting firm. This means our objective is to help power companies provide safe and reliable electric service.

ACRT boasts of nearly 400 employees – each one of whom is an owner of the company. ACRT has been 100 percent employee owned for the last 6 years of its 25-year history. We work in more than 25 states and also have offices in Lodi, CA. and Nashville, TN. ACRT also conducts urban forestry training in five Job Corps centers in Oregon, Illinois, Vermont, Arkansas and Kentucky.

We are seeking an experienced HR Professional with a minimum of 3-5 years proven Generalist experience who will provide support to the HR Department in the function of recruitment and HR Generalist responsibilities. There will be up to 20% travel required for this position. The HR Generalist will report directly to the HR Manager.

Essential Functions:

  • Workforce Planning, Recruitment, and Selection
  • Communicate and work closely with field and corporate managers to assure that positions are staffed in a timely manner
  • Organize and attend on and off campus career fairs and trade shows
  • Generate monthly and weekly staffing reports for management and executives
  • HR Policy review and development
  • Respond to and resolve employee relations issues in a timely manner
  • Provide advice and coaching to management regarding HR related issues
  • Manage and/or be part of a team to complete special HR projects/initiatives

Additional Responsibilities:

  • Makes recommendations regarding improvements to HR services, programs and procedures, and assists in the development of new programs, policies, and procedures
  • Day-to-day contact with associates and managers regarding various HR related inquiries and issues
  • Creates necessary reports to comply with OFCCP and the Company’s Affirmative Action Plan
  • Partners with management to ensure HR and business unit goals and objectives are met

Qualified candidates will possess the following:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources or closely related field along with 3-5 years experience in the area of recruitment and generalist activities
  • Familiarity with Federal and State labor law
  • Strong communication(written and verbal), interpersonal, time management, organizational, and problem solving skills
  • The ability to effectively communicate and interact with all levels of the organization.
  • Willingness and ability to travel up to 20% of the time
  • Knowledge and experience with an HRIS system.
  • Proficient in Word, Excel, and PowerPoint

Desirables:

  • Familiarity with OFCCP rules and regulations
  • Experience with Ultimate Software HRIS
  • Experience working for an organization with an employee population in multiple states
  • Experience developing and/or conducting new hire orientations
