Student Shadowing Opportunities

We are looking for employers who are enthusiastic about welcoming a college student majoring in Business and/or Human Resources into their workplace for a day, or part of a day, and allowing the student to follow an HR professional on the job, to experience a little bit of the profession in “the real world.” The employer has complete freedom to structure the shadowing experience in any way that they wish, and that is appropriate to their particular workplace, and feasible as to resources and time committed. We have information about the students who have signed up to participate that will even allow the employer to “match” the best student to their particular experience. Interested members should contact:

One-on-One Career Counseling Opportunity

The Ohio Skills Bank is offering a new pilot class “Introduction to Health Careers” through Project LEARN of Summit County and the Portage Lakes Career Center, to help students make informed choices about pursuing a career in health care. Week 5 of the planned curriculum gives the student a counseling session with a Human Resources professional, as a point of contact and source of information about working in this area. HR professionals who work in health care are preferred, but this is not a requirement for participation. The time commitment is three hours, with dates to be determined.
